5,000 people flee Mosul into Syria

The aid agency Save the Children estimate that 5,000 people have fled
the Iraqi city of Mosul crossing into neighboring Syria.

Iraqi forces have advanced on the city in a bid to recapture it from
the so-called Islamic State but the United Nations warn thousands of
civilians could be driven from their homes.
