US seeks more sanctions against North Korea following nuclear test

The United States is pushing for harsher sanctions against North Korea following the country's controversial nuclear test.

There's been widespread international condemnation of the blast, which occurred as American President Barack Obama was returning from an Asia trip.

State Department spokeswoman Elizabeth Trudeau said the US was determined that North Korea would not become a nuclear power.
