Turkish government requests extradition of cleric Gülen from the US

INTRO:
The Turkish government has requested the U.S. government extradite
Fethullah Gülen, who has been accused of organizing the failed coup in
July.

The cleric Gülen, has been living in self-imposed exile in the US
since 1999 but claims he made no attempts to overthrow Turkey's
government.
