TORRENTIAL RAIN CAUSES COMMUTER CHAOS IN UK

A train's derailed close to London after torrential rain which is causing widespread flooding in southern England.

Operator London Midland says the train left the track near Watford Junction after a landslide but no one was injured.

There are numerous reports of flash-flooding in the British capital after thunderstorms dropped as much as half a month's rain in a matter of hours.

It's causing severe disruption for commuters in the south east of the UK according to London travel reporter Joanne Webb.
