Kofi Annan-led panel visits buddhists, Rohingya communities in Myanmar's Rakhine State

A panel led by former UN chief Kofi Annan has begun a visit to Myanmar's Rakhine (rak-hain) State in the hope of ending abuses and violence against Rohingya (roh-hihn-JAH) Muslims. 


The nine-member panel was commissioned by the Myanmar government under Aung San Suu Kyi (ong sahn soo chee), but their reception on the ground was mixed.
