Johnson says there is strong evidence Russia carried out deadly UN convoy attack

Britain's Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson says there is strong evidence that Russia carried out the deadly attack on a UN aid convoy near Aleppo Monday evening.

He also accused Russia and Syria's President Bashir Al Assad of hampering the chances of a ceasefire.

His comments came after Mr Johnson attended a meeting of the UN Security Council where Russian and American diplomats sparred over the attack on the aid convoy which left at least 20 people dead.

US defense officials had previously said there was strong evidence that Russian planes carried out the strike however Mr Johnson is one of the first officials to speak publicly.

He added attempts to revive the ceasefire must continue.
