Cessation of hostilities holds in Syria

The American and Russian militaries are starting to make plans for co-ordinated operations against the so-called Islamic State group in Syria.

A cessation of hostilities has successfully held for a day, allowing badly needed humanitarian aid to get to Aleppo and other areas.

There's been rancour between the US and Russia over Moscow's support of the Assad regime. American Lieutenant General Jeffrey Harrigian told reporters in Washington that there was still some way to go before jointly controlled strikes against ISIS could start.
