Bulgarian Govt Announces New UN Secretary General Candidate

The Bulgarian government has announced that it’s nominating a new candidate for the post of UN Secretary General, Kristalina Georgieva.

Sofia says it’s also withdrawing support for its current contender in the race, Irina Bokova, who came sixth out of nine in the most recent Security Council straw poll.
