BIS: RISK GROWING OF CHINESE BANKING SECTOR CRISIS

A banking crisis in China is a growing risk for the world economy according to the banking industry's global watchdog.

The latest quarterly report from the Bank for International Settlements says China's credit-to-GDP gap is three times over the danger level.

That indicator is calculated from borrowing levels in relation to the size of the economy, compared to the long-term trend.

Danny Cox of stockbroker Hargreaves Lansdown says the problem is of international concern.
