US ‘Sent Cash To Iran’ As Prisoners Freed

The US sent 400 million dollars in cash to Iran at the same time as four Americans being held in Tehran were released in January - that's according to the Wall Street Journal newspaper.

Quoting officials briefed on the operation, the paper says the money was part of an earlier settlement over the non-delivery of American arms purchased by Iran's last Shah.
