More armed police to patrol London

London's Metropolitan Police have announced plans for more armed police to be put on the streets of the British capital.

It comes in the wake of attacks in Western Europe, though the Met Police commissioner Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe says the move is not a result of any intelligence received to say an attack is expected shortly.
