New York welcomes the bloom of the rare 'corpse' flower

INTRO:
This week gardening enthusiasts are gathering at New York's Botanical
Gardens to witness the 36-hour bloom of the rare corpse flower.

While the corpse flower can have a lifetime spanning decades, it only
shows its large, stalk-like petals once every 10 years.

Laura Cantekin has more from New York.
