Two separate offensives against the Islamic State group's strongholds in Syria are converging around Raqqa province and near the city of Manbij.
The advances by the Russian-backed Syrian army and US-backed rebel groups into ISIL's key strategic sites are reportedly putting some of the greatest pressure on the militant group since it declared its caliphate.
