FRANCE: FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT 'ON TABLE' IN UK NEGOTIATIONS

France has signalled it may be prepared to allow Britain to restrict freedom of movement as it negotiates its exit from the EU.

Most EU leaders have warned Britain that if it wants to remain a part of the European single market, it would have to accept the free movement of EU citizens.

But France's Finance Minister Michel Sapin has told the BBC that the issue will be up for debate in negotiations.

Brussels correspondent Jack Parrock says his comments have surprised many.
