Johnson and Johnson To Pay $55m After Talcum Powder Trial

The pharmaceutical firm Johnson & Johnson has been ordered to pay 55 million dollars in compensation to a woman who said that using the company's feminine hygiene talcum powder caused her to develop ovarian cancer.

The verdict from a jury in the US state of Missouri is the second straight trial loss for the company, which is facing about 1200 lawsuits over its talc-based products.
