Possible fresh evidence in OJ Simpson case

The Los Angeles Police Department is evaluating a knife discovered on the property of OJ Simpson's former mansion.

The knife was supposedly found by a construction worker years ago, and turned over to an off-duty police officer, who kept it until about a month ago.

Captain Andrew Neiman of the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that the double murder case of Nicole Simpson and Ron Brownstein is still considered unsolved and the knife might be evidence.

Nicole Simpson and Ron Brownstein were found stabbed to death at OJ Simpson's Brentwood estate in 1994, but he was acquitted of the murders.

LA police captain Andrew Neiman says the department does not understand why the knife was kept by the off-duty police officer.

Captain Andrew Neiman says the knife must be tested before it is confirmed it is evidence in the double murder case.

Captain Neiman says OJ Simpson cannot face the identical murder charges a second time.
