US President Barack Obama has signaled he plans to tighten the country's gun laws, despite Republican opposition.
The President is due to meet the Attorney General Loretta Lynch on Monday to discuss possible options.
It could see Obama take unilateral executive action to get around the inability he has faced throughout his Presidency to make changes.
New rules could include expanding background checks on buyers and other restrictions.
But Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump told Fox News he would overturn the new laws if elected President.
