US authorities are urging a group of armed men occupying a wildlife refuge in Oregon to abandon their protest.
It comes a day after the spokesman was killed and several others were arrested, including leader Ammon Bundy.
They have been demanding the right to graze cattle on federal land.
State police and the FBI have imposed additional security around the site and said those who remain are "free to leave".
