50 dead in attack on Syrian shrine

At least 50 are dead following a series of explosions at a Shi'a muslim shrine south of Damascus.

The attacks come as representatives from the Assad regime, opposition groups and the international community gather in Geneva for proximity talks.

Back in Washington, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry sent a special video message urging all sides to take advantage of the opportunity.

At the talks, representatives from the Assad government indicated they are considering delineating humanitarian corridors.

Repeating the Obama administration postion that a military solution is not possible in Syria, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said the fastest way to defeat the Islamic State is to craft a peaceful political solution.
