TANZANIA'S PRESIDENT ORDERS HOLIDAY CLEAN-UP INSTEAD OF CELEBRATIONS

Thousands of Tanzanians will be cleaning the streets on Wednesday [today] instead of celebrating the country's independence day holiday. The East African country's new president has cancelled national celebrations as he builds his reputation on austerity. Lucy Taylor reports.
