Vatican confirms Pope met county clerk jailed for refusing to issue same sex marriage licenses on US trip

The Vatican has confirmed that Pope Francis met Kim Davis, the Kentucky county clerk who was jailed for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, during his visit to the US.
Ms Davis's lawyer said she had a 15-minute private meeting with the Pope at the Vatican Embassy in Washington.
