The week of political debate in Washingon kicked off with former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney telling an audience of conservatives that the deal is 'madness' and essentially U.S. President Barack Obama capitulating to the Iranian leadership.
In contrast, at an event at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Minority leader Harry Reid, the top Democrat in the U.S. Senate, says the deal is the only way to guarantee that Iran does not become a nuclear weapons power.
