UK OFFICIALS MEET TO DISCUSS REFUGEE SETTLEMENT

UK officials are holding talks to discuss how to take in 20 000 Syrian refugees over the next five years.

Home Secretary Theresa May is meeting with local authorities and agencies after the government promised to take in more refugees from UN camps on Syria's borders.

Britain is not currently planning to take in migrants who have already reached Europe.

And shadow Home Secretary Yvette Cooper says the Labour Party thinks some migrants should be taken from the hundreds of thousands seeking shelter in the EU.
