Murder rates on the rise in major U.S. cities

The murder rate is on the rise in big cities across the U.S., according to new data reported by the New York Times.

City and law enforcement officials say that in some places easy access to guns and gang violence are likely contributing to the rising murder rate, but that overall there's no clear explanation for the spike in homicides.
