More than 700 people have been killed and at least 900 injured in a stampede during the annual Hajj festival in Mecca.
The deaths occurred on the first day of Eid al-Adha, one of the holiest days in the Muslim calendar.
The Saudi Health Ministry says some pilgrims failed to follow guidelines for the movement of people during the Hajj.
At least one million people travel to Saudi Arabia each year to attend the event.
