CORBYN MAKES MAIDEN LABOUR CONFERENCE LEADER SPEECH

Jeremy Corbyn has vowed to oppose austerity, in his first speech at Labour Conference since becoming leader of Britain's Labour Party.

He insisted in front of an enthusiastic crowd in Brighton that most British people share his values.

Mr Corbyn won a landslide victory among party members to become Labour leader - but secured little support from Labour MPs.

Some in the moderate wing of the Labour Party believe he is too left-wing to win a national election.

But Jeremy Corbyn told conference he would fight the Conservative government's economic policy.

IN: "Under my…
OUT: …better."
