President Obama is fighting hard to get enough political support to pass the controversial Iran nuclear deal.
While most Republicans have long opposed the deal, a key Democratic Senator, Chuck Schumer, now says he'll vote against it. Schumer, who is Jewish and a strong supporter of Israel, says there aren't enough guarantees that Iran won't eventually develop nuclear weapons. He's the second Senior Democrat to come out against the deal.
White House spokesman Josh Earnest says despite the defections, the President is committed to the agreement:

President Obama will veto any Congressional vote against the deal: attention will focus on the Senate, as it could over-ride a Presidential veto with a two thirds majority. Earnest says Senator Schumer's opposition to lifting Iranian sanctions has been well-known for more than a decade, and the President is confident he can still win on the issue.
