French PM calls for deeper unity on EU migration crisis

The French prime minister Manuel Valls has called for greater European Union unity in tackling the ongoing migrants crisis.

His comments came at a press conference at the French port of Calias where a huge camp of refugees has formed as they try to cross reach the UK - either by boat or through the channel tunnel.

An emergency meeting of EU interior ministers has been called for September 14th to tackle to migration crisis with 340 thousand people having been detected crossing the bloc's external border in 2015 already.
