UN adopts first-ever resolution to combat illegal wildlife trafficking

The first-ever United Nations resolution to combat illicit wildlife
trafficking has been adopted in a unanimous vote on Thursday.

Members of the General Assembly heard from the resolution's sponsors,
who brought up the recent killing of a nationally treasured and
protected lion in Zimbabwe.
