US President Barack Obama has called on African leaders to respect term limits, as he became the first American leader to address the African Union in Addis Ababa.
He praised those African countries which have made democratic progress but urged further respect for human rights in parts of the continent.
And President Obama insisted African economies need to be treated more like partners and less like aid recipients.
