The European Commission has denied accusations by the Greece government that an enforcement of capital controls in Greece is illegal.
The Greek government says it's had no choice but to shut Greek banks and the Athens Stock Exchange ahead of a referendum to accept or reject the eurozone's conditions for a financial rescue deal Greece desperately needs.
