UNSC holds emergency meeting on Burundi crisis

The United Nations Security Council is in emergency consultations over the political crisis in Burundi, a day after the country's sacked intelligence chief announced a coup to oust President Pierre Nkurunziza.


The attempted coup came in the wake of election-related violence over the President's controversial decision to run for a third time.
