UK BUSINESS 'NEEDS TO SPEAK OUT' IN FAVOUR OF EU

British businesses need to begin 'speaking out' in favour of the UK remaining in a reformed European Union, according to the influential Confederation of British Industry.

The CBI's president Sir Mike Rake is using its annual dinner to insist there are 'no credible alternatives' to Britain's EU membership.

Prime Minister David Cameron has promised a referendum on EU membership by 2017.

Lucy Thomas of Business for New Europe says it's important for the pro-membership camp to start campaigning now.
