CHARLES TO VISIT LOCATION OF IRA MOUNTBATTEN MURDER

Britain's Prince Charles's royal visit to Ireland continues with a trip to the village where his great uncle Lord Mountbatten was killed by an IRA bomb in 1979.

It follows an historic meeting yesterday between Charles and the leader of Sinn Fein, Gerry Adams.

That was the first meeting on Irish soil between a British royal and a member of the leadership of Sinn Fein - formerly known as the political wing of the IRA terrorist organisation.

Colin Parry, whose 12 year-old son was killed in an IRA attack in 1993, says moments like the handshake between Prince Charles and Gerry Adams are important.
