IRELAND VOTES ON GAY MARRIAGE

Ireland is voting in a referendum on the legalisation of same-sex marriage.

Voters are being asked whether the country's constitution should be changed to allow gay and lesbian couples to marry.

It comes 22 years after Ireland decriminalised homosexuality.

Voting will end at 10pm local time (9pm GMT) and counting will begin on Saturday.

Polls suggest the YES vote is likely to win.

That's what pro-gay marriage campaigner Stephen Mannion is hoping for.
