China has issued an indirect warning to the United States, to respect its disputed claims to sovereignty in the South China Sea.
It follows a flight by a US military surveillance aircraft over highly controversial, man-made islands being created by the Chinese in waters claimed by other Asian nations.
As Malcolm Brown reports, the American plane was ordered to leave the area by the Chinese navy.
