PM: Nepal earthquake death toll could hit 10,000

Authorities in Nepal believe the death toll following the recent devastating earthquake could reach ten-thousand.  

The country's prime minister said the numbers of dead and injured in Nepal's more remote regions is still unknown.

Nearly five thousand have been confirmed killed and many more injured in Saturday's 7.8 magnitude quake.  

The UN estimates the disaster is affecting some eight-million people countrywide.
