Indonesia executes drug traffickers by firing squad, 'spares' female prisoner.


Eight people who had been convicted on drugs offences have been executed by firing squad in Indonesia despite international criticism.

A Filipina prisoner was granted a last minute reprieve.

Two Australians, Four Nigerians, an Indonesian, a Brazilian were executed just after midnight local time.

Indonesian researcher for Amnesty International, Papang Hadayat, says the Indonesian government refused to listen to calls for mercy.
