FACEBOOK REVENUES RISE, PROFITS BEAT EXPECTATION

Facebook has reported increasing revenues - up 42% to $3.5bn in its first quarter.

The social networking site's profits fell to $512 million for the three months, but it was a better number than expected.

Founder Mark Zuckerberg called it a 'strong start to the year'.

Richard Troue of stockbroker Hargreaves Lansdown says the results were mixed overall.
