Sentencing has begun in the cases of ten Atlanta educators convicted of racketeering in a wide ranging public school cheating scandal.
Prosecutors say the educators participated in a conspiracy to inflate student test scores and give a false sense that struggling schools were improving.
Prosecutors say the educators’ motive was to protect their jobs or win favor from superiors.
