Russia's foreign minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry are meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, for their first time since Mr Kerry directly expressed his opinion that Russia is lying about its involvement in the war in Ukraine.
The brutal public assassination of an outspoken critic of the Russian government, Boris Nemtsov is also expected to be a major taking point between the two men.
