A former Royal Marine has become the first Briton to be killed fighting the Islamic State in Syria.
The Kurdish People's Protection Units - the YPG - says Konstandinos Erik Scurfield, from Barnsley, died to the west of the city of Qamishli on Monday.
It's thought that about 100 western volunteers are fighting alongside Kurdish forces against the Islamic State.
Kurdish rights activist Mark Campbell informed Mr Scurfield's family of his death and is helping with further arrangements on behalf of the YPG.
