Justice Goddard says she will regain the trust of survivors by "getting on with the job" - and told the Home Affairs Select Committee that no survivors will be forced to give evidence in public should they not want to.
The inquiry was set up after claims of paedophiles operating in Westminster in the 1980s. It surrounds allegations that at least 20 prominent figures - including former MPs and government ministers - abused children for "decades".
