At least seven people are dead and a dozen injured after a New York commuter train caught fire when it hit a car at a level crossing during the Tuesday evening rush hour.
The train with around 800 passengers on board hit a Jeep Cherokee near Valhalla around twenty miles outside of New York. Six people on board the train were killed along with the Jeep's female driver. The car was pushed for some distance before it and the front carriage of the train caught fire.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo visited the scene and told reporters it was a horrific accident.
