Greece's finance minister Yanis Varoufakis says his country needs a new debt deal within months.
He's on a tour of European capitals to seek support for the new Greek government's anti-austerity position.
France's finance minister Michel Sapin indicated Paris would be ready to help Greece come to a deal with creditors.
But Mr Varoufakis is not planning a visit to Berlin on this trip - where there is opposition to any new bailout arrangements.
On Monday he visits London and Rome.
Laith Khalaf of stockbroker Hargeaves Lansdown says Mr Varoufakis will receive a friendly reception in some quarters of Europe.
