The UK government has written to mosques all over the country urging them to carry out their 'important responsibility' to help tackle extremism.
Communities Secretary Eric Pickles says in the letter to 1000 Islamic leaders that they should "explain and demonstrate how faith in Islam can be part of British identity".
It comes as UK police boost protection of Jewish communities, and police officers themselves, following the Paris attacks.
But Talha Ahmad from the Muslim Council of Britain says Eric Pickles' letter is divisive.
