UK STEPS UP SECURITY IN RESPONSE TO PARIS ATTACKS

The UK has stepped up security at ports and borders after the Paris shootings.

British security officials are out in greater numbers at Calais and Gare du Nord in France - where there are UK border controls.

But Downing Street insists there is no specific threat to the UK following the killings at Charlie Hebdo magazine.

And security officials are maintaining the UK threat level at 'severe' rather than raising it to its highest level of 'critical'.
