IS militants release new hostage recording

Japan is investigating a new recording released by Islamic State militants - purporting to be hostage Kenji Goto.

The unverified recording says a Jordanian pilot being held hostage will be killed unless an Iraqi prisoner held by Jordan is freed by sunset on Thursday.

Jordan has offered to free convicted bomber Sajida al-Rishawi in exchange for the pilot.

Natasha Underhill, a terrorism expert at Nottingham Trent University, says this could set a dangerous precedent for talking to terrorists.
