French comedian Dieudonne to stand trial over claims he "condones terrorism"

A controversial French comedian is to stand trial on charges that he condoned terrorism.

Dieudonne (PRON:  DIEU-DONNAY) is one of 54 people arrested since last week's attacks in Paris that left 17 people dead.

In a Facebook post he expressed sympathy for the extremist who attacked a kosher supermarket in the French capital where four people were killed.

Correspondent Simon Marks in London says the decision to put the comedian on trial will be controversial.
