American Northeast preparing for “historic” blizzard

The Northeast of America is preparing for a potentially record blizzard, with up to 3 feet (90 cams) of snow predicted along the coast from New York to Boston.

Thousands of flights have been cancelled as people are warned transport services are likely to grind to a halt.

Our correspondent Nick Harper in New York says the warnings are severe.
